BSc Honors, MRSCLT, MASLTIP, HCPCReg, Child and Family Therapy Cert. NYU

qualifications

I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2009 from The University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. I am a member of The Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists (RCSLT) and The Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP). I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPCReg). I completed a Masters Level Certification in Child & Family Therapy from NYU, New York City in 2017.

Experience

I worked in London in the NHS for seven years across several settings including mainstream & special schools and clinics. During this time I also led a Specialist Speech & Language Nursery Provision and worked within a multidisciplinary team in a setting for children with significant emotional and behavioural needs. In addition to direct work with children, I supervised junior therapists and trained both parents and practitioners in various areas of speech, language and communication.

I started my Independent Practice in 2014 alongside my NHS work and I loved the opportunity to work with families in both of these contexts. I now work in the independent sector only.

In 2017 whilst studying for my certification in Child & Family Therapy at NYU, I worked in the preschool education sector in New York City leading a Toddler Separation Service.

Outside of work!

Family time with my husband, two daughters and wider family is the best! I love fresh air and outdoors, spending time with my friends, keeping fit and travelling.
